Divorce and a separation can be difficult for everyone involved. In this brochure, we share some ideas about how to talk about divorce and separation with a child, how to navigate some of the feelings around divorce, and how to find people and activities that offer them ways to work through this challenging time.

Here are some additional resources that may be useful for you and the child.

Local Resources: There are many services and resources specifically for children. You can speak with school counselors, religious leaders, and others in your community who may be able to help the child directly or recommend resources.

DivorceCare: If you feel it may help to seek the company of others experiencing a similar situation, you can use this site to find a support group in your area.

Mister Rogers Neighborhood: You can access all five Mister Rogers Neighborhood episodes that focus on the topic of divorce on the Fred Rogers Productions website.

Crisis Text Line: If you feel there is an immediate crisis with a child or family, you can text HOME to 741741 to reach the Crisis Text Line and connect with a trained counselor.
