The Fred Rogers Center at Saint Vincent College seeks applications for a Senior Program Associate.

This is a full-time position with benefits.

Primary Functions:

  • Contribute to the Fred Rogers Center’s work to understand and extend the legacy of Fred Rogers in serving children in families, early childhood settings, K-12 schools, informal learning spaces, and communities.
  • Direct, manage and coordinate one or more projects across child development settings, including early childhood settings, K-12 schools, informal learning, and other education or health community settings.
  • Work closely with community partners, including childcare providers, schools, and other non-profit agencies, to establish and sustain project initiatives to help support and improve high quality professional practices with children in both early childhood and other developmental settings.
  • Cultivate and initiate new partnerships, collaboratively setting vision and direction for strategic initiatives across projects.
  • Present and facilitate workshops regionally, nationally, and internationally on behalf of projects and the Center.
  • Actively develop and coordinate academic integration involving the Fred Rogers Scholars and the Incubator 143 research and development lab.
  • Work closely with Fred Rogers Center and Saint Vincent College staff, faculty, and students to develop project actions and timelines.
  • Engage or lead in developing research and evaluation plans, training and learning experiences, and community organizing and coordination.

 

 

Required Qualifications:

 

Education: 

A minimum of a master’s degree in a related field with strong field-based work experience (Psychology, Education, Higher Education, Research, Program Evaluation) is required; a doctoral degree with extensive academic and professional facilitation experience is preferred.

 

Experience: 

  • A minimum of three years of experience working in community settings, with projects related to education and child development programs.
  • A minimum of three years of experience working with community organizations in a relationship-building capacity.
  • A minimum of three years of experience with mentoring and supervising students in a higher education setting.
  • Technologically proficient with computer and audio/video equipment.

 

Essential Duties:

  • Develop and lead multi-partner projects in southwestern Pennsylvania region, across the state, nationally, and internationally.
  • Coordinate action with community programs and organizations who serve children through partnerships, collaborations, and contractual work.
  • Present and facilitate workshops regionally, nationally, and internationally on behalf of projects and the Center.
  • Collaborate with Fred Rogers Center staff and faculty, Saint Vincent College faculty and students, and experts and students from other institutions in the context of the projects.
  • Assist in other related project initiatives at the Fred Rogers Center.

 

 

Responsibilities of this position require frequent travel throughout southwestern Pennsylvania, across the state, nationally, and internationally.

 

This position shares support staff with other members of the Fred Rogers Center leadership team.
