Building a Framework for Quality in Digital Media for Young Children
June 3-5, 2012
Fred M. Rogers Center, Latrobe, Pennsylvania
The Fred Forward Conference is fully registered. We are sorry but we cannot accept any additional registrants.
Over the past year, the Fred Rogers Center has held expert roundtables, with more than 50 researchers, child development experts, educators, advocates, and media professionals, to explore the potential and important steps in developing a common framework for quality in digital media for young children birth through age 8. In related work, the Rogers Center also partnered with the National Association for the Education of Young Children on a new position statement on technology and interactive media in early childhood programs. The 2012 Fred Forward Conference will draw from this work, and from the leadership of many others among the conference speakers, panelists, and attendees, to determine areas of consensus and action for building a quality Framework.
A draft Framework statement is posted on this website. The statement proposes quality principles and corresponding action areas as the basis for discussion before and during Fred Forward.
Fred Forward is an invitation-only conference. For further conference information, please contact the Fred Rogers Center at firstname.lastname@example.org or 724-805-2750.
The 2012 Fred Forward Conference is supported by grants from The Grable Foundation, The Pittsburgh Foundation, and PNC Foundation.
