From the website: The American Center for Children and Media—an ‘executive roundtable’ for TV and digital industry leaders—is headquartered in Chicago, IL.

Mission: Support a vibrant children’s media industry by convening key constituencies to develop, implement and promote policies and practices that respect young people’s well being, and are sustainable.

Goals: The American Center’s goals can be organized within the following framework:

Anticipate and demonstrate accuracy in predicting emerging business, social, technological and creative issues that will affect children’s media.

Analyze and produce thoughtful, objective issue analyses based on research aggregation and evaluation.

Convene and sustain an Executive Roundtable of industry leaders that will serve as a forward-looking, off-the-record forum on controversial issues, including the potential for self-regulation.

Act and establish a credible and effective voice for the industry, building visibility for children’s media business realities and strengthening the perception that media is serving children’s needs.

Become the “resource of choice” on issues related to children’s media.
