Search the Archive
There are two primary ways to search the Fred Rogers Archive: (1) by viewing the Finding Aid to see if the item is included in the Archive; or (2) by entering search term(s) in the online catalog. For example, you may want to know if a particular episode of Mister Rogers’ Neighborhood is in the Archive. If you know the episode number, you may enter “Program ####” as a Title search; you also may enter a Subject to search, such as “divorce” or “music.”
You may search for specific material types by performing an Advanced Search. You can limit your results to printed music, music manuscripts, projected medium (video), 2-D graphics (photographs), or 3-D objects. You also can perform a simple Keyword search by entering terms such as “speech” or “correspondence.”
You may want to search for an individual person, perhaps someone who appeared on a program or was referred to in a speech Fred Rogers gave. Personal names should be entered last name, first name, or last name alone. If you are looking for the person as a correspondent or an actor/actress on a program, use the Author search function. Or, to see materials that refer to that person, enter their name (last name, first name) as a Subject.
Limit all searches to the Fred Rogers Archive by selecting that heading from the “View Entire Collection” drop-down menu and clicking “Submit.”
