Access Provisions
Materials in the Fred Rogers Archive are primarily intended for the use of researchers, scholars, and educators interested in early learning and children’s media and the unique contribution Fred made to these areas.
Those interested in research access to the Fred Rogers Archive are invited to submit a formal request to visit the Fred Rogers Center in Latrobe, PA, to view digitized material at the computer workstations in the Archive Library or to examine physical materials from the Archive. Digitized materials, including video, audio, and scanned print content, are usually accessible only in the Archive Library; remote web-based access to this material will only be provided under special circumstances. Copies of print materials may be provided to users in response to specific requests; a fee will be charged for the reproduction and mailing of these materials.
To request access to materials in the Archive, you may use the Archive Access Request Form, an Adobe Acrobat® pdf file that will allow you to email the form directly to the Archivist or print the pdf file and send it by mail or by fax to 724-805-2761; or you may send an email or letter to the Archivist. Your email or letter should contain the following information.
Your name
Organization or academic institution of affiliation
Summary of your research proposal
Potential use of your work (article, book, thesis, dissertation, educational materials, etc.)
Forums for performance or presentation
Particular types of material you may wish to access
Additional information that may help us to identify potential resources that may be helpful to you
