Fred Rogers Scholars to Host Documentary Screening
LATROBE, PA – In honor of Fred Rogers’ birthday month, the Fred Rogers Scholars program at Saint Vincent College will host a screening of the documentary film “Won’t You Be My Neighbor” at 6 p.m. on Monday, March 25, in the Fred M. Rogers Center. The screening is a capstone to a weeklong campus celebration entitled “Fred Forever,” which is coordinated by the scholars to encourage fellowship and neighborly kindness on the Saint Vincent campus.
The screening is free and open to the public. Guests may bring a non-perishable food item to be donated to the Westmoreland County Food Bank.
“Won’t You Be My Neighbor” is a 2018 documentary directed by Morgan Neville that encompasses the life and guiding philosophy of Fred Rogers. It debuted at the 2018 Sundance Film Festival, and upon its release in the United States, received universal acclaim.
